Unsolicited Opinions and Highly Contextual Advice
..Because that’s so rare on the Internet.
These are things I remind myself of.
Cooking, Cleaning, Using Things
- Just… cook all the bacon. The whole package. Even if the recipe calls for 4 slices, and you have 8 left over. Trust me that you will find a way to eat the rest of the bacon.
- Pocket knives: cut toward air, not meat.
- Secure your load. (Thanks, Dad. Still haven’t packed a mule yet…)
- Things come with strings. Every object you own has a to-do list attached.
Time, Productivity, and Rest
- Everything takes longer than it takes.
- Leave earlier than you think you have to.
- 100% finished is better than 50% perfect.
- Eventually, it will be fine; or it will be over.
- To simplify, subtract.
- It takes as long to get back, as it did to go away.
Being in a Body
- Move a muscle, change a thought.
- Motion is lotion. (I’ve had arthritis since my thirties. You?)
